Making Lives Better

Kyle L. Pederson is the latest in his family's long tradition of lawyers who approached their practice with the eye of fighting for the victim's right to fair compensation. Kyle's grandfather, who rose to the rank of a Judge Advocate General of the Navy, taught Kyle "There is right and there is wrong. When something is right, you fight. It's the principle that matters."
This philosophy set Kyle on his path, and he received his B.A. in Business Management from St. John's University in Minnesota and his J.D. from California Western School of Law, where he graduated cum laude.
Winning at trial depends upon the understanding of your opponent and mastering the facts of your client's case. While Kyle initially began his career defending insurance companies, he quickly saw that there were two sides to every story and the truth in the middle.
He transitioned to the Plaintiff's side, and one of his favorite cases was an uninsured motorist claim involving a widowed mother with two young children who were injured in a car crash. Despite his client's constant complaints of headaches and neck pain, her own insurance carrier only offered $3,000 to settle the claim. The longer Kyle looked at the facts and the more research he did about the subtle ways a body expresses traumatic brain injuries, Kyle knew that there "was right and there was wrong" and set out to fight for his client's brain injury and was awarded far in excess of the $100,000 policy limits during arbitration. Once his client's brain injury was properly diagnosed, she began the treatment she needed and was finally on the road to a successful recovery.
Kyle is very active with the North County Bar Association where he previously served as Co-Chair of the Litigation Section. He is also a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and Consumer Attorneys of San Diego. He often volunteers his time with local Oceanside organizations including the Rotary Club and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
Kyle carries the lesson of "principle" from his Grandfather to his practice of law and continues to study and attend seminars on traumatic brain injuries, including those organized and presented by the Brain Injury Association of America and the Brain Injury Association of California.
Kyle and his wife, Marisol (also an attorney), reside in Oceanside and enjoy spending time with their dogs, Luna and Bella.
