Facts and Background:  
Plaintiffs were moving from San Diego to Santa Rosa. When they had nearly reached their new home, Casey Wooden driving with a learners permit, came out of a side street and broadsided plaintiff vehicle.

Injuries and/or Damages:
Rose Joanson was 6 months pregnant at the time of the incident. She was life-flighted to the hospital where she was administered medication due to a ruputured placenta. For 3 months it was unknown whether she would carry the baby to term and whether the baby was injured. Rose also suffered cuts, bruised or fractured ribs. She and David sustained neck and back injuries.
